Trending @Capgemini; Facing Professional Harassment & Unfair Treatment
TLDR: Toxic manager with a history of resource harassment dragged me onto his project without KT/consultation, then immediately assigned complex tasks outside my SQL/Snowflake expertise (Python). I was: falsely blamed for delays (which were his fault or pending CR approval), given a "Needs Improvement" review based on my approved medical leave (typhoid) and fabricated incompetence, had my contributions stolen/removed, and am now facing BOTP on my YER. My Team Lead/Onsite Manager won't back me up. I need advice on formal action/legal recourse.
Details: I'm seeking advice regarding a manager on my project account who has a documented history of harassing resources until they break down, leading to dismissals, emotional distress, and poor Year-End Reviews (YERs). My experience over the last few months reflects this pattern:
- Unfair Onboarding & Mismanagement • Forced Shadow Resource Status: Dragged into the account without consultation, interview, or proper communication while on the bench. • Zero Utility & Blame: Received zero Knowledge Transfer (KT) on roles/tasks. Was immediately blamed for not contacting the team, then expected to complete complex tasks (data procurement, SOP creation) with no guidance.
- Misrepresentation of Performance & False Accusations • Goal Post Shifting: A submitted document was held for review for weeks (since early September) by the manager, while new requirements were constantly added, and I was blamed for delivery delays. • Unfair "Needs Improvement" Review (September): Manager cited false reasons: • "Incompetency" in Python, despite my background being strictly in SQL/Snowflake and never claiming Python proficiency. • "Not providing deliverables," despite timely submissions. • "Taking unplanned leaves," which were approved medical leaves for typhoid fever with a prescription, now being used against me. • Mischaracterization of Task Scope: Blamed for a database cleanup task (Task 1) for not taking "accountability" (decommissioning objects/contacting stakeholders) which was explicitly blocked for shadow resources due to confidentiality and incorrect practice.
- Sabotage and Undermining Contributions • Flawed Task Assignment: Assigned a complex Python automation task (Task 2) despite my SQL background. After conveying my incompetency, I was publicly termed an "incompetent resource in Capgemini." • Delayed Deployment & False Blame: • I self-taught Python, fixed the manager's unstable code, and completed the task in 10 days. • Deployment was delayed by 13 days due to pending Change Request (CR) approval (confirmed by my Onsite Manager/Team Lead), but the manager blamed me for this delay in my BOTP review. • Accountability for Manager's Error: Manager's own utility file (input key) for the automation had a missing conditional filter, causing an empty column in the final output. I was held solely accountable for this flaw, which was caused by the manager's incompetence. • Credit Theft: My name was omitted from the Confluence task credits, while everyone else's was included, despite my primary contribution to making the broken code functional. I was also told to remove my name from the developed Python file.
- Isolation and Failure to Support • Cornered & Unsupported: My manager ignores daily standup calls (where my Onsite Manager and Team Lead are present and aware of my progress), yet demands daily update emails. Although my Onsite Manager and Team Lead are on sync with my daily work, they provide zero defense or support when the manager undermines my efforts or dismisses my release requests. • YER Status: Manager has placed me on BOTP (Back On Teack Plan) for the YER, based on the above false and misleading claims, continuously undermining my efforts to HR and N+1. This ongoing cycle of harassment, false reviews, credit theft, and having my health issues weaponized has made my working environment unbearable, leading me to consider resigning. I need immediate external advice and support. Seeking Legal & Professional Guidance Can I pursue a formal complaint or legal action against this manager (and potentially the company for inaction) given the pattern of documented harassment, false performance reviews, and creating a toxic work environment that is impacting my health and career? Any advice on next steps or internal/external resources would be greatly appreciated

Keep looking for a job outside, don't get involved, they'll find disgusting ways to blame you if you get involved.

Trying the same man. But companies have unrealistic expectations on Naukri, LinkedIn and everywhere. Getting no reverts from any companies too.

Rishi Raj ?

No buddy. But sorry to know you have faced someone similar too.ðŸ«

It is a type of layoffs

Man just hoping I get a job before this layoff starts hitting me. I can't even resign as I have family responsibilities to cater to here.ðŸ«

Bro which account ??

Sorry buddy, but that may not be wise to say on my part.

I am asking which project ?

Raise Grievances if possible

Where to do it? Can you provide any guidance?

Choose peace of Mind don’t overthink just don’t react to him and do your own work up skill get out if much needed resign if you are financially stable for some months

The worst thing is I am the chillest guy you would ever come across and yesterday I felt an anxiety attack after the BOTP Review meeting. I want to choose mental peace and resign but can't do it because of family responsibilities. Trying to switch but hardly getting any revert backs from companies. Basically I am cornered.

This person sits up high in the Capgemini Management Circle and knows many HR Directors and higher ups. Therefore constantly mentions them on every way possible for intimidation purposes.
