Facing dilemma

26 year old. Want to go for cat next year but ambivalent about it. Earning peanuts. Should I attempt cat or go for any online bootcamp like PM school or anything else. Much needed advice.

Go for MBA internationally, most people there start late. It'll be expensive but with hard work you can recover costs within a year. Make sure you have the work ethic.

Isb mba if you think you will be too old to your iim batchmates. ROI and ability to payback fees is similar

Problem is there are very few schools that offer 1 year MBA...and i am not that sure of my selection at isb.

IIM A,B,C, all offers 1 year EMBA. You can try that and can get cohort having similar yoe. Won’t recommend IIM I.

Definitely go for CAT. Don't worry about your age, in the long run, benefits of doing MBA will outweigh your age.

Don't go for PM online bootcamps from anywhere. In my experience, it is not worth it. Companies don't looks for certifications, instead they looks for real world experience in handling products.

Plus having an MBA degree will open up lot of avenues for you like getting into sales, marketing, management consulting, equity research, financial analysts and obviously product management. Based on your interest, you can choose any career path.

And I hope you have thought through the real reason for you for getting into PM roles. Hopefully it is not just the salary packages and the fancy titles.

Go for MBA buddy, these PM flagship courses won’t help much. Prepare well and don’t worry about age. ATB!!
