The vast majority of this platform’s users are completely disconnected from the realities of India’s K-shaped growth
This phenomenon is pushing the poor to higher indebtedness, lower incomes, and higher suffering during the most inflationary times in generations.
On the other hand, you have the other line on the K-graph — represented by this platform’s users — where sab changa si. Incomes are high. Growth is happening. Opportunities are visible. And if not, you’re already wealthy enough to escape to low-tax destinations. These four years since Covid have made you insanely richer.
But at whose cost? The bottom of the pyramid has fallen to pieces. These castles in the air have no foundation.
Whether anyone likes it or not, the world over, the consolidation of wealth in a small number of hands has consequences. The consequence is that basic income is coming. If Congress doesn’t do it, Modi will in some shape or form.
This lopsided-sided K-shaped growth is not sustainable. If there are no basic universal incomes, there’s going to be chaos.
Don’t believe me? Let’s discuss this again in 5 years.
