I have seen such holes in my life. Early in the career it’s very difficult. I started my career with one of the bigger IT services company, and still remember the harassment by my project manager. I still vividly remember one incident when I reached home at 10pm after work and was called to work at 2am, only to be shouted at. He used these exact words, “agar yeh nahin theek huwa toh mein teri gd maar doonga” in front of 10 other male employees. I was shocked! That was the first and this guy used to intimidate me every time.

Gave me a 2.5 rating even after slogging for hours. And after this incident, I raised for project removal, in a floor of 150 people, he shouted - “tujhe jo karna hai karle, ghanta ukhaad paayega”..

I was very scared, and wanted to resign then and there, but some of my seniors told me to first raise a HR concern. Even HRs were involved and they didn’t do any action.

I tried for some other companies and finally got one and immediately resigned. The day I sent resignation email, the behaviour from HR and manager changed totally. They call me and tell me, we will send you on site, just stay till March, we will release you from the project.

But I was simply hell bent on getting out that shithole. And I finally got out. But that notice period days were the best days. Even after that, I got few other managers. One was a lady who called me office even when I had high fever. She basically wanted to make sure I had high fever. Only when I reached office and she checked personally, did she tell me to leave for home.

Corporate India is shit and fully of shitty people. Now, thankfully I have good corpus as well as other stream of income. Now, if someone yelled me to work in the weekend or late nights, I simply deny at the first moment itself. At most, they will simply tell me to resign. I will do that. Better save that dignity and health of yours.
