The sinister motive: For employees approaching the 5-year mark, Capgemini aims to avoid gratuity payouts. They push these employees out before they become eligible, saving themselves the payout. This motive drives their actions, regardless of employee performance or dedication.
The human cost: The constant stress, uncertainty, and pressure take a toll on employees' mental health. The Capgemini's tactics amount to mental harassment, leaving employees drained, demotivated, and struggling to cope. And to add insult to injury, the company then uses their compromised state to justify termination, claiming they're not performing well. The reality is that the Capgemini's actions make it increasingly difficult for employees to secure new opportunities, further entrenching them in a cycle of desperation.
