In my team, juniors do not work on their assigned work on time and then when escalation come, my manager will loop SME'S to take action, which is fine as a SME, we do that work but after that he do not take any action for that resource as well. It's been more than 2 years now. Every time I raise concern about this, he says send email who is not working. We send email, but he doesn't take any action as all those resources are known to him.

I understand, but what should we do? Sometimes, it's really frustrating, and unfortunately, I can't do yes sir ok sir, I do raise my voice every time, but then he questions my capability that you are not able to make them work. Although he is also not able to make them work otherwise he wouldn't loop us for that work.

Couple of things you can do
As an SME do your work by taking sometime so that they realise for someone's fuck up they will have to pay and not you or someone else
Talk to higher ups, stating I can do work up until a certain limit not more, it's fine if it's something new and people need help, but repeating stuff again and again means thr juniors don't want to learn

Well @Autonomy it's a problem. The solution for that SME is to start saying no, I understand for manager billing is important and hence they don't take action. But the manager is also under the impression, if something goes wrong, I have that one SME to always rely on. At the end, you are not here to change the system either you comply with it or make it work in your favour. I hope you understand what I am trying to say here.

Hahaha ur manager is either lazy or is very kind π...this happened to me too recently but now weak resources r getting out of the team. So actions r taken in my team
