Hats off to that grapevine Samaritan who mentioned to hold whatever job you have as things will only get worse this year.

Isn't that a conflict for interest for a recruiter? :P

Well a lot of recruiters have been laid off. Its just a bad market for everyone. I remember a time when amazon recruiters used to send a mail of sde 2 roles to startup founders. How times have changed

Expedia is one of those companies where I was thinking of giving interview and getting in. But I guess I need to change that plan now.

Even I was thinking. But maybe they have laid some operations folks? Tech roles are affected or not?

I have not gone through the news. I did get a notification from LinkedIn today that Expedia is hiring for a tech role. So, I guess I'm going to apply.

They are hiring recently on LinkedIn 🥲

Whenever firing happen or news broke out every company starts fake hiring HR starts posting job openings on different platforms, companies start talking multiple interview rounds and every round becomes harder & harder as their intention is not to hire but Engaged people and if someone clear it they delayed the joining or some time revoke the offer letter and all such things are done to confuse working employees and outside world and when any company declare 10% or 5% layoffs that means they already fires people working on contracts & third party service based companies (tcs,Infosys, tech Mahindra etc.) & consulting firms (EY, KPMG,PWC) so actual numbers are always more not just 10%…

You really have good insights @MightyLazyGeekStar 👏

Tech hiring is freezed in Expedia 😭. I saw opening on LinkedIn and reached out for referral but HR mentioned hiring is freezed

I thought expedia is some of the secure ones out there. Now, they too laying off 🤦

This is huge...
