After clearing technical rounds, hr sent mail asking documents and expected salary. My cctc is around 10, i asked 15. In case they don't have budget will they reject me or will they negotiate first. I dont have any other offer, but I am interviewing with other companies but i would like to join this company only so I asked 15 , i work bring any counter offer later ...I want to say all this to hr as justification of my expected salary but for now i just send documents and details which she ask and don't call or mail her as she may feel i am trying to justify which may seem unprofessional.
The company's always have budget. But to answer your question, if they select you for the role, but don't feel like paying you the amount you ask for, they will negotiate. You can further try to negotiate with them as well on this if you feel strongly.
