Exit plan from Bangalore?

We are a couple in our late 20s.

Have faced so much harrassment in bangalore from the localites. - it feels like hell.

It is all glittering buildings with goons filled in every other street.

For women, its feels pointless to stay safe here. If you don’t live in a gated society, forget about safety. Me being a man have been punched by localites once.

Anyways, our career plan :

We have experience at bigtech, now looking to start our own tech businesses. If that doesn’t workout, get back in corporate for a few years and then try again.

We are both north indians.

Which city is the best alternative right now?

What’s important for us:

  • transport should be easy
  • access to cult, a few good outing spots, and smart folks around
  • cheaper than bangalore
  • safety, especially for women

We have no interest in partying/clubbing so that doesn’t matter.

Mumbai is expensive. Noida I cross out because I hear that it’s very unsafe. What about Gurgaon?

I have considered Hyderabad and Lucknow. But few questions bother me:

  • is it possible to run a startup remotely from Lucknow? If we stay in Hyderabad, will we get technical talent to hire?
  • if we have to resort to coming back to corporate, at the age of 30, do they usually allow for remote option? For eg, Walmart, Google, Amazon, Microsoft etc. I don’t want to stay in blr at all.

Please help guys.

One option is leaving India but don’t want to stay faraway from my parents.

Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur All three have proximity to major cities, good connectivity, IT / business parks, tech colleges & good life

I can actually consider Jaipur. Pretty sure we can find affordable places to live there.

What would remain is a remote job finally

Please don't make Pune over crowded.

If you want metro city, than Hyderabad or target some tier 2 cities. Most are safe atleast than Bangalore and no need of language focus chu******

True. Language issue is such a bullshit. I am thinking of Hyderabad to move to

Hyderabad is great. Although might not be that cheap if you want to stay near the IT hub. In the city it is cheap. There is also metro connectivity. Good talent pool, good corporates.

Another alternative is gandhinagar

Sounds good. I have been to Hyderabad for a few months, but didn’t go out anywhere. How is the culture for shopping/parks/local markets and finally women safety?

Gandhinagar 😂. Top gujju politicians doing a lobby to bring IT,but there is no Ecosystem in gujju land. Non vegetarians won’t get a rented house.

Go for Gujarat. Very peaceful life. You'll not get the top talent but still some amazing folks to startup.

My situation is exactly like yours, the difference being I've a fully remote job and no plan to startup on my own.

Hyderabad is a great alternative but I feel the difference in expense would be just 7-10%

Hey, would you recommend some good localities to live in? Last time I was there for a few months in 2019, Financial District, Indirangar, Madhapur, were sought after places. How does it look now?

You first leave Bangalore and then decide where to go. This city does not deserve great people like you.

Mumbai. Extremely diverse. No one will judge you for not knowing local language. In the outskirts the Rent is cheaper as well plus ease of public transport. The weather is really bad though, like extremely bad
