Everyones ahead... or maybe it just feels that way
Lately, FOMO has been hitting hard. Not just from Instagram, but from real life.
Hard to stop comparing when the comparison is your own cousins same age, way richer, living the life you once imagined for yourself. You can mute reels, but you cant mute family updates.
Some days it feels like everyone else is moving forward while I am stuck choosing responsibilities, loans, and "doing the right thing."
I know comparison is pointless, but that doesnt stop it from hurting.
Just venting. Trying to make peace with my own timeline.

Me too twin, elder son parents have a total debt of 50+ lakhs paying it off 70% of my salary goes off in paying EMIs. And people my age are just vacationing, having marriages buying houses with their partners.
And I used to get really freakin sad about it but then I started thinking is there any magical button that I can flick and make all my responsibilities disappear and there's no point in thinking about stuff that right now I cannot have that gave me zen mode mentally.
You don't need to mute anything just accept the reality and facts what you can have what you wanted to have and start smiling and being happy by watching others being happy trust me it has helped me a lot now I don't feel bad completely maybe for a couple of minutes but then it becomes something I'm happy about for others.
I'm exactly at your position, i recently moved to Deloitte thought I am doing well and all but real FOMO came when I joined Deloitte knowing I'm no where and everyone around me at office and in life are way ahead of me in their careers
In terms of pay or lifestyle
Don't worry bro. Have been in situation where i joined a company where everyone seemed to have better learning/career compared to myself. But with due time, everything evens out. Believe me, just work a little harder that what you usually do.
Living a life is cheap but living a lifestyle is so expensive.
Roti kapda makaan is cheap but luxurious food, clothes and bungalows are expensive.
People have fomo because they want a luxurious lifestyle.
We can't stop comparing unless we have a control mind that's why while building your wealth also build inner strength through spirituality.

FOMO works well on reels. Real life runs on EMIs and responsibilities.
