A tear jerker.
We were 8, now down to 2 , pretty soon it's going to be only me. You can't escape loneliness I guess. Because it's your shadow.
And then you make a new home, as you settle down in the evening, watch your spouse indulge in their hobby, your kids sit and do homework while pulling each other's leg and howling mom, you call your sibling and do a video call...sigh contentedly later and realise it's the circle of life 😊
This is so well written!! It's true that time waits for nobody. As adults, we often remember our good old childhood days and feel nostalgic... However the people we created memories with... Our friends, siblings and family members have all gone on to live their own lives... Whenever I feel nostalgic about my childhood, I just tell myself that "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"! Then I look at some old pictures for a few minutes and carry on with my normal work.
