I used to believe that because the United States is a progressive nation, people marry later and have children in their late 30s or early 40s because they want to enjoy life. To gain privacy and to force their children to stand on their own two feet, they toss away their children after the twelfth grade. After speaking with about ten or twelve couples, I've come to the conclusion that they do this since getting married and starting a family there is quite costly, and the RCA for this is a credit card. Chances are, by the time you were 30, they already had you or were planning/expecting you. Financial independence was negative.

You can still be financially independent if you live within your means. Your salary is not enough to have an insta lifestyle probably. When comparing that to your parents, they didn’t have a lifestyle like that anyway.
