ESOP components removed retrospectively
Hello,
I just got to know that my ESOP components have been removed by my company retrospectively, citing a policy update. I have recently joined them and this comes as a shock.
While I am not focused on money at this stage of my career, I am finding it difficult to accept this.
What should be my next steps? I had already taken a pay and title cut to join this org, since I was working with an unknown startup initially.
Should I look for another job? I suspect if I push for ESOP inclusion, they might fire me given I am still serving probation period. Not backed by evidence, just my gut feeling.
About me: PM with 3 years of experience in fintech. Both tech and business savvy, but from a non-traditional background. Current job is with a unicorn and I had accepted the offer to seek recognition as a PM.
