Trending @Infosys; Escalation in Verizon client

I am getting an escalation for the one story. One spilled over and the scrum master added the manager client in the cc. Tbh, I have reached my limit I don't fucking care anymore. I am tired Even though i joined the team 2 months ago and am still new to the team. I told my manager directly to remove me from the team but instead of releasing he is motivating, I don't understand one side scrum master is sending mails for escalation including everyone I said I can't complete the development for the new story but they are forcing.

Can't they just release me if they don't like.

Here's my thought. When rejecting the story, try adding/vocalizing the constraints why you cant work on the story? Was the story not groomed prior to sprint planning? Was it not estimated? Was it ambiguous or missing details? If no problem with the story but you are facing issues delivering you can ask help from other dev teams and in the spirit of scrum everyone should help you finish the task

Not getting enough help. Others have their own story. I am not able to understand the project till now.

It happens during initial phase of project. We need some time to understand the project. Scrum master is the most useless person TBH. They don't have any work and expect everyone to do their work in unrealistic time.

At the end of something went wrong thay will scapegoat you. You better not to have everything oral communication. Keep mail teams chat as proof of discussion.

Will they put me in PIP?

They will put resource in pip bench only if they think he lacks technical skill needed to perform

That will be a problem in all big accounts. You join a project where developers will be from diff ent companies / locations / units. And since it’s agile and stories are assigned there is misplaced notions that everyone including new guy should do certain story points irrespective of whether he is new or not. If new you should negotiate for less story point of actual work and more tasks for KT and you should also ensure that the there is a person assigned a task to give you KT in same sprint so that his effort is also taken into account. If projects teams are not well structured this will happen irrespective of the account.

Company is billing client at hourly rate and client want his work must be completed as he is paying lot. This irrespective of your expertise, experience and efforts. If manager is non techno manager then he may ask to put more people for single story and get it done instead of providing prerequisite training before onboarding to project.

I had same situation, i faced production release and that got one escalation from very high level. And everyone blamed me as I took handover of certain stories. Infy side no one supported me even though I joined project just 8 days ago and changs released to project got sign off 2 month before my joining.

Within all projects all of them will find a someone to give all this bs. But you need to fight back. If you find any discrepancy in a story tell your manager about the concerns of it. And tell them I don't have minimal information that is required in a story.
