Engineering Manager at 6-7 YoE, yay or nay?

I'm currently a Senior SRE with experience in cloud, ops, infrastructure, databases, consulting, security, etc. Also skilled and interested in management (people and product), customer experience, etc.

My immediate manager has suggested an idea of me becoming an Engineering Manager in a Cloud product team. I'll approximately have 7 YoE by then.

Senior folks in Big Tech, do you think it's a good idea to switch from an IC to Leadership this early in career? What are the pros and cons?

You should switch, remember after certain yrs of experience your growth will become very slow if you are IC.
