engineering is not for everyone

tldr: engineering is not for everyone because you gotta be creative and well versed in your field.

My take, I don't think everyone should take engineering. Sure, it's got a good pay and is a proud thing to say to relatives that one is an engineer. But listen, it's there in the name itself, after completing the degree, you'll be an "engineer", someone who "engineers" stuff or in other words, creates stuff. I mean, look at the way the course is designed, in your final year, you have to do your final year project, and for that you have to create something new or atleast solve an existing problem. For that you need imagination and at the same time skill. Now a days everyone takes engineering for the pay and says that they aren't getting a job. brother you don't have the skills (including me).

It is not for the weak, and someone who wants an easy job. I'm still a student, but this is what I feel.

Sure some jobs are easy, like you do the same thing everyday, but from what I know, for most jobs that is not the case, new things arise and you need to be skilled enough to solve them. ik I'm talking like an NPC, but this is the truth ig.

Please do post your thoughts.

Bro you should be thankful this app doesn't have a down vote button, so according to you one should enter a field if they can be the absolute best in that field and can achieve the best results dude grow up

um......think about it, isn't that the better option?? I wasted my time in college, I didn't try to develop my skills. tbh I'm not sure if I'm cut out for coding, if I'd tried it sincerely in my first year, I'd have known if it was the case and if it was not, I'd have dropped and tried some other field. Now my option is to become better in this field. that's what I'm trying to say, if you're good in one field, go for it instead of going into another field for pay and pride.

when I think about it, I'm pretty good at teaching other people about the stuff I know and I can learn languages well (from my experience, idk if others too learn languages this fast), so now that I think about it, I could've become a language specialist or something like that and could've started a tuition centre (for school students, since the topics would be easy and I can teach pretty well). I also want to do some kind of business with vehicles because I like vehicles. but alas, I came to realize all this late.

Did you try advising your cousins not to pursue engineering if they don't want to code?

I have three younger cousins. They don't want to code. They have their clarity. They don't want to pursue any particular engineering stream as well.

They want to get a decent paying job. Let's say 6-8 lpa start with a path to 15-20 l...

Any other engineers find it boring and frustrating to chase impact?

I am an engineer, what I enjoy is solving technically challenging problems. I don't really want to spend my time bothering with non-code solutions to your business problem, and I don't care how much money my code makes you. Just have a t...
