Emergency neeed hellp

I have a medical emergency at my house due to which I have to return to my hometown urgently. But my pg owner is not ready to return the security deposit. They are just saying u shall inform 1 month prior.

How can these people be so insensitive to other person serious problem. Is there any way I can get security deposit. I don't belong to a wealthy family and each penny count at this moment. What shall I do. Pls help
