Fixed deposits are probably the easiest, you'll just about beat inflation.

Try auto sweep account facility in Bank. It's an FD but you can always withdraw anytime

Keeping 2 months salary in au bank account, rest everything in stocks/smallcases. Had also tried some debt mutual fund but ca advised against it.

My immediate attention would be to stack 3-4 months of Paycheck worth in an emergency fund in a bank account that I don’t have much access to. No debit cards. Just upi, if necessary.

Step 2: stocks. Buy and hold the ones I’m interested in, and keep buying more of the same every month like clock work.

Earlier it was in the bank account & FD. Now, I am maintaining it in my Home Loan a/c (Money Saver)
