ECL or .Net

I got contacted by my manager asking me if I am OK to work on a project that need me to work with ECL. My background is .Net and I have no prior knowledge of ECL. Do you think it's worth changing or should I try looking for projects in .Net? Also, What are the future scopes in ECL? I'll appreciate all the suggestion and help.
