D+ approval in a corporate setting may refer to a request for early release from a company, which requires approval from a director or above. For example, at Cognizant, a D+ category employee may request early release from the company by accepting a severance package of six or nine months' pay. The request must be approved by a director or above, such as the HCM's boss or practice head.
