Trending @Cognizant; Early Release from Cognizant – Need Advice

Hi everyone, I’ve got an offer from Deloitte with a 45-day joining timeline, while my current notice period at Cognizant is 90 days. I share a good relationship with my manager, so I’m hopeful about discussing an early release.

Has anyone here been able to get an early exit from Cognizant? If yes, how did you manage it? Would love to hear your experiences.

Ask him to put you on bench and from there resign and within a week you will be released

I am not sure if that would be an option. There’s strong dependency on my role in the current project.

@HappyBlack congratulations 🎉 for the offer, not the next thing - be cautious while sharing about early release with your manager. I would suggest you to give any health related reason for early release, if you share with your manager that you got a new offer and you want early release, I bet your manager will do all things in your capacity to stop your early release.

In short - don't ever mention another offer to your manager - straight away give some health issues as the reason to demand early release - act fainting 2-3 times in the office and don't wake up until you are in the actual hospital, not that shitty hospital on the campus. Looking forward to updates from your end

Check the buyout option and otherwise you can negotiate with your earned leaves

Nothing as of yet. Trying to negotiate with Deloitte if they can extend to atleast 60 days.

The decision depends on your PM and the BU head
We released 2 of our folks with buyout option

If you are on project and are so valuable resource as you claim .. you won't get early release.. not in 45 days. Ask Deloitte ..... hiring companies have flexibility generally
