During PIP, I resigned today after 1 month of pip but now my HR asked me to register for a course else will get terminated today itself.
HR told me forcibly to register for any one course having AI/ML, AZURE, AWS. Failing to clear the Proctored test will result in termination. Otherwise as per the work performance done in pip will terminate if not satisfactory or failing to clear PIP. But since I had resigned today why should I be registering for the course which will not utilized in my current project? Then I asked what is my last working day then she said it depends if unable to clear either of the test or pip performance will result into termination then full notice period will not be required to serve. I'm in situation where they want to anyhow terminate me. So what is the use of resigning?
If you put your resignation ask for Last Working Day. Official you are still an employee, and one is bound to do any work asked by the organization.
Basically, the org wants to set the record straight saying folks were terminated as they could not perform in the opportunity given, instead of resignation. Try to be smart and play with HR. Register for a course preferably with cloud, and find excuses for not appearing for evaluation, if you are not confident of clearing it.

Same case for me too. Better to mark the end date before the PIP end date. But if you're so confident that you'll clear it, then you can proceed. For me my HR has helped me by releasing me from TCS before the pip end date, as he calls it better to resign before as to why waste time in doing the course as you're resigning anyways. Please discuss this with your HR and tell them to release you from TCS before PIP. It's your call anyways.
Probably they are taking into account that what if you take back your resignation.
