These guys have dried all the fundings aur inhe ab fresh round of funding chahiye. VCs are not ready to give more funds unless Indian startups start to show some profits. Therefore some startups like Unacademy, Dukaan have started reporting profitable just to raise new round of funding. But, I take his word as a pinch of salt. If I would have been an investor, I would ask big auditors like Big4 to audit their financial statements. I think they're trying to become default alive, do this for the long term They probably noticed it's not growing as much as expectations, this can be a good way to make sure they turn it into a cash generating business of some scale, over many years
But scale here will be important to know. Given how much they have been valued at, it does not matter much if it;s profitable at a sub par scale
