Don't you feel things moving too fast?

Lately I am having this feeling where things are moving so fast around us, and it's getting harder to catch up the pace.

Not sure if it's just normal part of adulthood.

It feels like world is moving at 1.5x the speed than normal after 2020.

Months are fading away in matter of no time.

There's a theory that says it feels like that cause we lack new experiences. Childhood was slow cause everyday we experienced some new things. Now that is gone. So throw yourself out there for new experiences and life would get slower

1.5x?? It feels like 5x to me! I feel like I need an assistant to do some of my work, so difficult to handle everything.

It is a common experience across masses. Conspiracy theories tell that it is literally happening. It's the devil's timezone. Some say we have entered the 5th dimension. Some say it is the devil's phase of day like a week, next will be day like a month. Some say the world as we know it has ended, and we have shifted to another universe.

You can try to watch some conspiracy theories if you are interested.

1.5x is a very small number you said. For me it is 10x. I don't like living post 2020. There are so many discrepancies in real estate, income level, people's behaviour. Everything has gone bad for common citizens. This government is majorly responsible for that though.

I blame this feeling on WFH.

I feel lockdown gave us a breather, a sudden stop, where we realized that there are much more important things than productivity, job, earning money. Time went really slow those days because we had time to think of things we truly love. Working in a job doesn’t allow us that time and whole life passes by chasing things we “think” we live when really those interests are just born from the seed of comparison from everyone else around us (other rats).

There was a time when simple moments were enough to make us feel content. Small joys brought real happiness, and satisfaction came naturally. Now, even though we have more than ever, it often feels like it’s still not enough. We find ourselves wanting what others have, caught in an endless cycle of comparison and desire. We chase more, yet give less, and remain trapped in this constant craving. If this continues, a day may come when we pause and wonder—how did we let ourselves become this way?

I literally spent 2 days in my apartment without even stepping a foot outside. Kind of worrying.

Perception of time has changed over the past few decades. Mobile phones , mechanical/robotic daily routines seem to be few of the factors resulting in this phenomenon. Early we had a lot of time to waste and feel bored, now that time is taken up by the Mobile screen/ netflix or by overthinking about the next EMI, next EMail , job security or FIRE goals

Indeed it is, technology and technologists are getting obsolete at a very fast rate as AI is here for the automation.

I feel like it's the start for a real life TERMINATOR movie.
