With hra, Do you get the full 90k a month or do they only compensate for the amount you are actually paying in rent.

You get the full HRA component always irrespective of your actual rent you pay. This is the case even if you live in your own house and pay no rent. Ren matters only when claiming the HRA exemption for Income Tax as per the old regime. You need to compute minimum of some 3 formulae, and the HRA you received vs the rent you paid are the variables in those.
