Trending @Wipro; Don't depend on Vidal health insurance

I have opted a parental comprehensive plan and paying premium since last 2 years since I joined wipro, Unfortunately my mother is not feeling well past 2months having pain in stomach, chest, so we went to hospital and do all testing MRI scan,CT scan, 2d Echo dot test, bp ,Sugar almost all test to recognise the disease, all reports are normal, then doctor did the endoscopy and he found a lump &nodule under the stomach celiac artery.

After investigation doctor explained about the criticality told me to cure this we need to do operation and we decided to admit her and do a surgery immediately.

I took a step and ask staff at reception told them I have medical insurance of my family, they checked my vidal card , my mother card told me we raise a request to vidal team and once they approve will do the cashless treatment till now you have to pay 30k. I paid amount and admitted her on 22/4/2025.

As it is network hospital i thought it will be easy for them to go with cashless. They submitted request for claim and they got the confirmation initially. Staff told me about insurance approved for cashless, Based on that approval treatment started on 23/4/2025.

Next day I received a mail on wipro Outlook and it is clearly mentioned that:

"We are unable to extend the cashless facility kindly submit to reimbursement"

Without any specific reason, they asked me to do post reimbursement the claim.

Based on this incidents I checked again my bank balance I take a discharge immediately I know she just had a operation but due to lack of money I don't have other options and asked hospital staff discharge her create a file for insurence. I paid remaining around 3lakh including medicine amount and come back to home and taking care of her.

Here I have to borrow money from relatives and friends for treatment.

Learned lesson from this incident is never depends on cashless insurance anymore.

Always have some money for emergency.

Whatever the way attract you to buy this insurance for cashless treatment etc don't get in trap.

It's there network hospital still this happened with me it's really hurts you at this moment.

I am now very frausted situation now I have to fill forms and submit all documents to them. As already have office workloads.

May be they approve it or reject it don't know.

but at the end I am depressed and unsatisfied with the vidal health insurance at this critical moment 😞

Last week when I admitted to hospital and Vidal refusing to give cashless . I called help desk number and no proper response . Even after 10 days Vidal is saying Technical team is revising it . Very much frustrated with Vidal and there is no POC from Wipro side is bothering a lot. Medi assist was very good

It’s time change from Vidal to others

Until or unless we have taken personally, we should never rely on cashless option in case of corporate health insurance. As you mentioned always safe to have a emergency fund. 95 percent we will have to go for reimbursement
