Does your family judge you if you tried but failed ?
I was in a sector which paid less .. but gave opportunities to travel .. publish have a good life. Then everyone around me was earning 3 x of me .. it took me 4 years to reach market level and I still feel the pressure. Does out standing in family depend on our salary ... may be not immediate family but extended. Do our children also judge us... I hear kids discussing my dad is VP .. director ... what about yours ...?
Everyone has their own path. Don't judge yourself, everyone else can't be helped. As long as you're secure about your choices given your circumstances.
If family consider positions then we failed to teach them values.
Happy family always be content to what they have .
I strongly admit..i grew and did well in my student life to get job.. because i saw how my dad trying to support us financially even though it was tough for him. And I saw how mom sacrifices things to grow kids...
Kids discuss those things because parents are also discussing those things in house.
For extended family it matters how much one earns no matter in which way. It's better to ignore them
All is well as long as you are not in debt have sufficient amount for your family.
