Does the pursuit of a higher CTC ever truly end, or is it a never-ending cycle of expectations? How do you find satisfaction in your career?
For those who have significantly increased their salaries, did it bring the fulfillment you expected, or did it just set a new benchmark? At what point do we say, “This is enough,” and shift our focus to other aspects of life like work satisfaction, personal growth, or impact?
Would love to hear from both high and mid-level engineers do you think there’s an end to this cycle, or is it just human nature to keep wanting more?
It's a never ending cycle of expectations, but one day you'll realize you're too old & tired to be able to do it any longer, or you start having health issues that no longer allow you to work.
That day you quit your job and retire, with whatever savings you've built up till that point in your life. And you live frugally on those savings, to try to make them last till the day you die. That's human life for most professionals 😄

Above 75k$/Year (as per American Standards) the emotional utility and luxury money can get you shows plateau and ergo stagnation. So money is a bottom less bucket ( Never ending rat race as you said ).
So
- medical security
- Educational Security
- some recreational budget
- savings for emergencies
When you meet this checklist, socialising and cultivating a life is a goal I look forward to.
My checklist btw :)
