Does it make sense to move or settle abroad at this point in life.
Me and my wife are planning to settle outside India. We are 34 yo working with FAANG and earning around 5.5 lacs per month as a couple in Bangalore with no kids. We can get opportunities to work in UK or Luxembourg. The biggest concern is ageing parents and starting a family abroad with no support. The primary reason for moving abroad is work life balance, quality of life and social benefits post getting citizenship in either of these countries and eventually get out of this rat race. We are comfortable here with no liabilities and our parents are also financially independent. Does it make sense to settle abroad at this age considering our parents will need us in 3-5 years.

We were in same situation last year. We decided to stay back in India.
Life is comfortable here. I have maid, nanny.
Enough to spend anywhere I like.
My mom got admitted this year n I was able to take care of her.
I am not scared or worried on how to manager office, kid, parents and home all together. And

You guys are doing financially well. In India if you have that kind of money then you can live like a king. Abroad maybe the work life balance will be better but you will not get the facilities that you have here. Also, it gets lonely at times. Stay here and look after your parents for now is what I would suggest.

Plus only one of us will be earning at the beginning and if we start a family then only one of us will earn for a few years.

This rat race is a pain! But ageing parents will never return. Now is the time to support them

Rat race is only for poor people like me, wealthy guys like you really don't need to bother. Just relax and enjoy life here imo. Also your combined in-hand seems lesser for faang, I imagine you must be having very good rsu and bonuses, considering that you are already set here. Good luck

We are in non tech roles. The salaries in tech are 30% higher.
I used to dream of living abroad during college days, but after my grandmother’s sudden death due to Cardiac Arrest , I stepped back. I realized if something happened to my parents, I wouldn't be able to reach them in time from abroad. At least in India, I can be there within hours.
Bro life is unpredictable, it's better to spend some time with your parents, because that's what every parents wishes.
You can live comfortably in India with the amount you mentioned. And if you decide to move abroad I hope you are aware of all the challenges that you'll have to face.
