Does company perform background checks when a new employee joins?

Yep, I was informed that my previous employer was not reverting back on email etc. I even got a screenshot of the same😂 Like what can I do about that. But they mostly use third party services for the same. Better to be transparent as much as you can be. That’s why it is important to leave a company on good terms else they might spread lies about you as well(mostly won’t happen but Indian companies works on different ethics it seems😂).
