Does anyone know about the Retention bonus ? What exactly is it ?

For me: When I completed 1 year I received the retention bonus amount in Salary. Seems you will get it every year ( unless TCS revised the CTC structure )

Retention bonus ids of two types- For a new hire, it is paid after certain compulsory time duration e.g. 50% paid after completing 6 months and rest 50% after completing tenure of 1 year. Second type is when you resign and company wants you to stay and gives you one time payout rather than increasing your package.

I joined in 2022. And in my offer it is mentioned as I will get retention bonus every year on my work anniversary month salary
