Does anyone feel invisible in your workplace

I work in a Big 4 firm. When you are surrounded by highly qualified and talented people, has anyone felt invisible .. more like feeling like an imposter in that place

While I am able to handle the work, this feeling keeps coming up, and you feel that you don't belong in this place. I think this feeling plus fear of failure is the worst combination, making it difficult to survive in a workplace.

Does all these mean that it is time to switch company?

I can relate to what you’re saying. Working with incredibly talented people can make anyone second guess themselves, but here’s the thing.. If you’re in that room, it’s because you deserve to be there. The fact that you’re handling the work already proves you belong. Imposter feelings are actually pretty common in high-performing environments, but they don’t define your ability or your worth.
Instead of asking “do I belong here?”, try flipping it to “what can I learn here that I wouldn’t get anywhere else?”. That shift alone can make the experience feel a lot lighter.

You’ve got this.

Someone once said u should yourself with people who are better than you. So you can learn from them everyday. If you are with people who have less knowledge than you, u will always feel you know everything and will never learn anything new. Take advantage of their knowledge and move towards success. If you do that, switch will be really easy.

I've had the opposite experience. The quality of hires is going down day by day and people are awful to work with

This is a classic example of the imposter syndrome. You need to believe in yourself. Interact with people more. It will help.

No they are not.. They are just loud! Those who talk more and being shameless and not caring are considered well endowed in that world.

If you want to be like that, be like them. Seize the opportunitnies or just do your job and go home!

Been here. The way I was able to cope up is by switching, and thankfully, now working with people who are equally talented but less pretentious, flamboyant, grounded and great human beings.

This intimidation is often termed as "high performing, "output driven" or "fast paced" culture. I have found it to be a disguise for politics as well.

Find a place where humans work like humans, not super computers.
