So since I'm in my 4th year of my UG, I'm thinking of reaching out to the talent acquisition team of big companies directly asking for a role in product design. Is it a good idea? What else can I do?

Reach out to hiring managers with your portfolio. That will have high conversion, compared to reaching out to Talent team. Market is brutal for freshers. Create a portfolio and showcase your talent to actual design leads. This will improve your probability of getting an interview

Reaching out directly can work, but also network with industry professionals. Upskill with relevant courses and apply on job portals like Naukri and LinkedIn. Referrals can be very helpful too.
