Do you think PM interviews are a good indicator of competence?

I think you only get better at interviews by preparing for interviews. It's a decent measure of IQ and work ethic.

However, I have met PMs who kill it at interviews but are extremely incompetent at their jobs. I have also met great PMs who really suck at interviews.

As the role evolves and AI takes over, is there a better way to evaluate PMs?

Unsure of what can be done better but I can confidently say given my first hand experience that

a. Being great at interviews doesn't guarantee being great at job b. Being from IIMs doesn't guarantee shit. I have worked with counterparts from best of IIMs and some of them are dumb as fuck.
