Do you know Jürgen Schmidhuber? The man behind most of AI breakthroughs ie transformer,scaling,LSTM,GAN, Meta learning,Deepseek breakthrough

Just based on pure merit and longevity of his research paper, he is the GOAT of AI world. I would value him much more than the famous trio of Yoshua Bengio, Geoffrey Hinton, and Yann LeCun.

Schmidhuber's only impact in the last few years was having a go at the Ian Goodfellow during NeurIPS. Man was such a hypocrite. He was critiquing Hinton for taking credits for his students' work ( such as AlexNet) , while doing exactly the same for LSTM. Not to mention, running to Saudi arabia at the first chance , while championing human rights, free speech all this life
