Do you have any ambitions?
What do you do outside of work? Are there any hobbies you genuinely love and don’t just do to pass the time? Do you have any secondary sources of income?
From what I have seen, most people in corporate lack ambition. They don’t have any passion, nor is there any will to do anything outside of work. While I completely agree there is nothing wrong with it, the sheer low percentage of people who are passionate about their life just astonishes me. Maybe I am expecting a lot and am wrong here. I wanted to know others’ opinions as well. What do you people think can be the reason?

At this point the only ambition i got is playing tough game on toughest difficulties. Playing extremely complex grand strategy games from paradox interactive.

I actually don't want to climb any corporate ladders. I don't care about job titles and don't need any accolades. I just want to have income to fund my lifestyle, not be depressed working with assholes, help other people and be around good humans. That's it.

Having passion or will is just not enough. To achieve some Greater goals in life, you need to have that fire in the belly. No matter how passionate or skillful you are, if you do not have a Greater goal and enough fire in the belly to achieve it, you will always fall short.
For me i do a corporate job so that i can support my Stock market trading journey, Once i reach a certain $$, i will start my own business along with Trading as my full time profession.

I'm a guitarist and aiming to learn as much as possible, currently studying for my trinity levels. Apart from that I'm passionate about football, so I play 2-3 times a week. And I agree with your point, many people in corporate don't really have an actual interest.

This is what amazes me. People get so much comfortable with their salaries that they don’t wanna try anything else.

More than being comfortable, I think many of the ambitious ones try to make their job profile as their vision for life, nothing wrong with that though. But I do believe being a more well rounded person helps a lot, to stay sane

I dont have any "creating" hobbies, only around consumption. I guess I am a "mid" person. In terms of ambition, passion etc. I want to reach a stage of relative financial independence and enjoy life on whatever way I deem fit at that stage, be it gaming, gym, reading, travelling etc. I dont think I have mental adequacy to think about a secondary income. I enjoy my work and can do it for a good time, hopefully even at lower pay at later stages of life.

I started with learning to make apps. But I didn't have a tech background neither did I have a mindset to learn coding.
Tried my hand at no code platforms and I have launched 4 apps in a span of 6 months. Now this has given me a steady income stream of 0.5-1k usd/month when my apps get sold on the flutterflow marketplace. Even small no code features are giving 20 usd per sale.
This is become a full fledged ambition of creating beautiful apps and learning more about it.

No code platforms like ?

For starters try flutterflow. It is like canva for making apps. Once basic apps are covered you can move to more complicated platforms. @SilentTusk51

Earlier, I used to draw and had some other hobbies but now all I'm passionate about is watching my series (and horror movies when I feel like watching one). Anyways...I don't know if we can call this a hobby (or passion) but I do enjoying writing. But it's not something that I do whenever I want. I'm a part of community where they organize a writing event once/twice a year and I participate in a few rounds of writing. Usually, they provide themes or prompt or muse around which we have to write. Maybe I just enjoy competition 🤔

Writing is passion! I have been doing it for quite some time now. Feels so good to pen down all your thoughts. ❤️

It does feel good because anything can be possible in imagination and that imagination is what we put into words. I don't like writing (using pen and paper....stuff like that) so I type 🙃

I wanted to study economics alongside software dev 😔 I don't think it's possible now

Same here. Economics has always fascinated me since my school days, but unfortunately never got a chance to study.

Somebody once advised me to read CBSE class 11 and 12 Economics text books. I read them end to end and it changed my entire perspective of how I look at companies, governments, budgets etc.
