Do you guys think chatgpt is just another bubble

Most of the media is trying to lick gpt but i am trying to use it daily and it kind of just wastes my time in debugging . I found some good uses like dto writting and json to http writer . But thats all . I cant trust its info bcoz gpt halucinates a lot and i cant trust bing bcoz end of the day the just take some words from web page and concat it and display. I hv started feeling it like a bubble just like blockchain . If u guys are actually finding some good usages can you please mention thnks for reading !

There are tons of use cases. Seems like you are the one in a bubble currently. I use copilot and find it very productive. We are working on tons of use cases in customer experience. The whole customer service/support domain will go through a tectonic shift. Self driving cars will use transformer architecture(as they work great for images as well). Transistors, internet and now LLMs, and you think it's a bubble 🤦. People are hyping it as they always do but that doesn't change the reality.

Its been years but still didnt see self driving cars on the road. Not alteast in india. Things will take alteast 10-20 Yrs what people are considering it will do.

Self driving cars toh waise bhi India me nahi aaenge bhai. Indian traffic and Indian drivers are highly unpredictable. Foreign me it's already launched. Look up Cruise in US

Oh certainly not a bubble. They have certainly built the world's most useful tool of this generation till date.

I am talking even in commercial sense. Take a simple Named Entity Recognition task from an OCR dump of say doctor prescription. So you may have to extract doctor names, date, medicine names etc from it.

Just give the ocr output to chatgpt and ask it to provide the above details in json format. And provide couple of examples for the same in a single chat. It performs wonderfully. This just eliminated atleast 10-15 days' effort of annotating data or even preparing synthetic data and training an NER model. That's almost 1.5 lakh rs saved in data scientist salary alone. 😂

Point is, devs can simply start to integrate chatgpt into their flows and get a basic version deployed to collect data, do your pilot etc.. ofcourse if you need clinical accuracy u need that level of clean data which will be generated in due time as ur ops process. But for pilot wow effort drastically reduces...

So no, it's gonna keep booming in its usage. They have a mind blowing winner in this one, no question

So ur role of data scientist will go away right? Switch to de then?

Thanks for giving a use case. Even i tried variety of things on how i can automate whole backend stuff especially with func feature introduced but again the questions boils down to reliablity and trusting . I mean even gpt 4 also hallucinates . My point is u will never want gpt to book your flight tickets bcoz any step gone wrong will led to cut on ur money. Why content creation may be good use case is because theres zero risk as u can alaways delete ur content if u dont like. Please let me know if u have a diff opinion

Not a bubble but over hyped right now. These AI are not as fine as the social media is making it.

Definitely not a bubble, this is unlike crypto, Web3 and other bubbles. Generative AI is going to fundamentally change work as we know it.

It's not a bubble. Everything hyped is not a bubble, anything worthwhile will always be hyped.

anything in tech will come to its senses within few years, just wait. About this gpt, it's not bubble, but super duper overhyped for sure

Impact of chatgpt

Has anyone come across people losing job because of chatgpt? I think many people foresee that happening but i am more curious to know how do you feel about that in Indian tech sector.
