Do vp of data and analytics code or still technical

I think head and vp of data and ml in Swiggy , flipkart , Uber , Zomato don't code or don't upgrade . They think of bigger picture and more business side but they are actually don't know anything . They hire strong guys and chill and earn money , even for them getting job is easy with connect .
