Do matrimonial apps work?
Been exploring all the apps but I find them shady and way too expensive. Want to know if they really work out well for people.
Specifically asking about matrimony and matchmaker apps/services/platforms, not dating apps.

This question is wrong. This is like asking does Amazon work for sellers?. These apps are a market place. A good product sells, the market has no role.
Amazon is a bad example. You don't need to pay extra membership fee just to be able to buy products.
One can't even send messages to matches for free unless you pay first. And plenty of times what happens is the match is actually just a fake account trying to lure people into subscribing.

How many months of browsing and meeting/talking?
Years of browsing, not months. I honestly didn't find good profiles and uninstalled very soon. But my family persisted and they found my spouse. Took us 2-2.5 years to find the one. Till then had talked and met a few but failed. My spouse had created the profile just 3 months before we found him. Then we met 4 times in a period of 2.5 months before finalizing
