Trending @Accenture; Diversity hiring is death

I am a female and a diversity hire. The company aims to give opportunities to new hires to enter new domains without providing them adequate coaching or ensuring a proper upskilling. No wonder diversity hires come across are incapable, guess why??? I am dealing with a lady who has worked for 8 years in the field of marketing communications and now she has to work as a data manager for commerce domain. How does this add up???? And now the poor lady has to learn from the client and upskill on commerce domain knowledge. Is this a joke !!!! My career is dying a slow death as I am stuck in a domain that is no where close to a decade of my experience. I am as good as a fresher who is learning the domain and tech stack!!! Leave a job when you realise that you are a diversity hire, as it just ruins your career ( if you have past experience). That temp gloried designation is a hoax and will screw with your career in the long and make you a liar.

Or sometimes it can just work wonders for you. I agree it takes a lot of hard work to come up to speed with your peers but I think it’s worth it. I try my best to enrol into relevant training’s and certifications. It is hell hectic to cope up with the work and these learning’s at same time. However I can feel it’s all coming together. I feel smarter through each passing day. Do not give up and just push yourself a little bit extra for a few months.
