Ditched the offer of a startup
Currently I'm working in a FinTech startup. Here my compensation is 'x' fixed. I've around 9 months of full time experience and 6 months of internship experience here. I needed to switch from my current company as the work is not good and they are cost cutting so everyone is also switching.
I got offer from eka.care for x+2 and I was sure shot to join them. I asked a little bit more compensation but they said 20% on curent is industry standards.I visited the office and met manager and future teammates.. They were very good and I liked the team, company and the manager, but I was also disappointed that I'm getting just 2 lac of increase. But still I was in full mood to join as I really wanted to learn the quality work. So because of this I resigned from my current company.
After some days in between of my notice period and there is still 15 days to join eka, I closed another offer from a popular FinTech 'smallcase' at x+7 lpa. Based on the interview and people I talked I think smallcase is pretty great place and I accepted the offer. I'm feeling guilty that I've ditched a company. I think whatever I've done I made a great choice. This will help me in future and also ensure my financial stability. WDYT?

It's okay to do this because they (any company) would also replace you as soon as they get better option. This is harsh reality.
So finding the best is a normal thing in IT INDUSTRY. But don't make it a habit otherwise you will start switching b/w girls too🤣jk

Stop feeling guilty, you do you man! If the last 2 years have taught people anything, it's the fact the orgs will leave you dry without skipping a heart beat! So you do what's best for you and your financial goals, work is only a part of the game! If you weren't happy with the salary, you would've probably end up quitting sooner anyways

Thanks for the perspective

You did the right thing take as much money as you can when it comes to shopping offers, there’s even a Harvard Case Study telling people they should switch every 2 years to increase their package, also startup’s won’t skip a heartbeat to low ball you or lay you off so don’t think that you did anything wrong.

Thanks for the insight
You did the right thing.
