How do I discontinue my credit card? Is there a standard way to close it with banks?

  3. They will put all efforts to keep you, give away offers
  4. If you still resist, they will cancel

I cancelled one for my mother, Axis card It was done in 3 business days, they sent mail

But they had me on call for 1n half hours convincing why I shouldn't leave

You can email them with an email drafted via ChatGPT instead of calling Customer Support after clearing all your dues. You will have something in written conversation and bank will have to follow the RBI guideline else the bank will have to penalty.
