Disappointing Interview @ Nobroker
Last month I interviewed with NoBroker for a Demand Servicing Head position. The process went like this:
2 rounds of screening with HR/TA - was okay, good conversations. After which they scheduled an interview with the Business Head for the particular team. This interview went well too.
After this they sent me an assignment - the longest assignment I've ever worked on as a part of the recruitment process. It asked me to write multiple detailed SOPs for the sales team, build a demand forecast model, and a complete demand generation plan for an oddly specific scenario. They gave me 5 days for it.
I worked my a** off, desperate to get the job as I've been unemployed for some time. I did the assignment close to perfection - spoke to so many industry folks in real estate and made realistic assumptions, covering all possibilities.
All in all I've not been so confident about my work ever like I was in this case. I submit and they acknowledge.
Few days go by, I follow up, only to be given generic delay reasons by HR. Eventually, after more than a week they rejected me. When I requested for feedback on the assignment they completely ghosted me.
I don't know why I'm sharing this here, but it's been hard. I've been jobless for > 5 months and every such experience completely shatters my already low self esteem further.

White collar jobs really need to unionise. All of us have been taken advantaged of by companies and there are no laws or correct implementation by the government. We’re all at the will of these orgs!! What a time to be living in, where crores are spent on religion but no discussion on the actual problems being faced by the hard working people of this country!!

They made you work for free taking advantage of the situation.
Indian startups are turning out to be the most toxic workplaces with zero sense of ethics.
@SuperiorNote , which profile was your last role in, and what is your level of experience?

I worked as a BA (project manager) for ~ 2 years post MBA

If you have experience around 7 years in project management, my company is hiring for senior business analyst role. As both the roles kind of overlap in some companies. Mail - userworkemail@gmail.com . Please add proper subject . DMs are not working as i dont have enough grapes .

I have ~ 2 years post MBA experience

Ok sorry then we have opening for BA role when experience is from 5-8 and 8-10.Just for the sake of info , from where you hve done MBA ?

Did they not ask you to present the plan? How else will they understand your solution? Indian startups are the worst employers.
I am sorry buddy, hang in there - you seem smart and you will soon land a role of your choice and with the right employer.

Yeah they never asked me. I couldn't have been so off the mark that they didn't even bother to discuss it

I feel whoever gives case studies, they are looking for a solution without paying. Big red flag. They don’t even ask to present. Just make a ppt or word doc and send it to us. Post sending they ghost the candidates. I had the exact same experience when I applied to Meesho, Jio and Scaler
Not giving interviews to any company that asks for case study round anymore

Case study rounds are okay if you are required to present the solution. They help assess both hard and soft skills. But if it is only a submission, I would be wary.

Nobroker is shit for finding houses as well

I also had an APM interview with them, and the interviewer was a bit dominating, cutting me in between every answer. For feedback, they said they were looking for something else!
You find who's the HR/ Hiring manager, reach out to them, and do EXTRA things to stand out, but they just plainly ghost you as if they have an upper edge! (which indian recruiters believe they have)
But @SuperiorNote, one thing I've learned from my job-hunting process is to be patient; the right company will find you!
