Disadvantages of joining a company on contractual role

Hi folks!

Are there any disadvantages of joining a company in a contractual role (which is expected to convert into a full-time position based on performance)? I also have a full-time offer, but the role and compensation are not very attractive. Could you please share your guidance? If I accept the contractual role, will it have any negative impact on future job switches? FYI, the payroll will be handled by a third-party company.

Only job security is the issue, if you are joining on contact base , and can ask 50% extra compare to market standard salary, and have a emergency fund in backup , it’s not that bad if these two conditions satisfy

Yes, I understand that. I Just want to understand if it will have a bad impact on my resume in future.

It depends on the role, the project and the vicinity to your ultimate career objective.

If this role aligns to your career objective in a field where you are seeking a growth/breakthrough or experience. Go for it.

But keep giving interviews on the side to make sure that you're leveraging this role as a springboard
