I was nominated for the Star of the month and for ace award for several times from the project but the group to which I got assigned say we have budget problem

Is this valid reason or what since I am fresher

ACE award is a monetary reward. Rewards points will be awarded based on different ACE awards.

I don't think these awards are based on individual project budget...These are given on Accenture level...
