Did your dad ever ask you if he needed you for something?

Women's Day - Yeah, the world will celebrate in a grand manner Men's Day - What's that? Mother's Day - Oh yeah! better than Women's Day! Father's Day - Perhaps, it's the only day where MEN, at least, celebrate but cry silently inside with their whole hearts if they were wished.

Just like one of Superman's powers, they could see what their kids go through, even without hearing a word.

Recently, it occurred to me that, I have not achieved anything close to what my father did when he was my age. While I shared this scary feeling with a friend, they just consoled me that our fathers went through far different situations and they didn't have a choice other than deliberately working harder without making any excuses, which makes us stand with more comfort. Yes, they worked hard for OUR future rather than their well-being, such was the mindset of their generation even before we were born. While, we, hmmm, not going to talk about ourselves, we just need to look at ourselves in the mirror.

While I see posts on Father's Day by not-so-introverts and also while I post this on grapevine, I am still figuring out a way to wish him without letting him know what I am going through (introvert problems). Fathers just watch their kids no matter where they are, even from the skies.

Here's wishing the new fathers, fathers, old fathers a very very Happy Father's Day :)

Damn! I found only 2 pictures of JUST me and my dad, one in 2018 & other in 2016 (selfies). I took literally 20 minutes to search if there are any.

By the way, my dad once said he needed me with him & I couldn't figure it out.

One of the thing I really admired about my father’s generation was they were simply working hard. They never said to the world oo look at me I’m working hard. They were like just keep your head down and work hard.

The problem with that is, he sees what problems I'm facing and worries for me. After all these years, don't want to think of him doing something for me again. Let him retire.

He is, but yeah, same story, I'm not even halfway what he would have wanted. But WIP someday soon will make him proud.

just say : Happy Father's Day . grown men don't require or demand a grand gesture(not that they would mind if it's there).

being emotionally vulnerable with their feelings is something indian children, are never told, is okay , specially us introverts. yes the last generation never had their eureka moment in this regard , that does not mean we should not too.

Also he would not convey it but , in all probability it would mean the world to him.

Shit this post is actually so true. Father’s day is so under celebrated for someone who does so much for the family. Just like a mother, a family cannot survive without the father either

I have always celebrated father's day. I usually buy greeting card with quotes for dad, maybe cut cake or cook something good. We celebrate it at home just like birthday celebration. After my marriage I did the same for my father in law and I got a good thrashing for it. My husband too got a good thrashing for the same. They used to never celebrate anything. They think this is all part of western culture. After that we just wish him happy father's day. No cake nothing just like a normal day. Recently in a fight he told my husband that we never celebrate father's day like cake cutting n all.
Couldn't argue.
I don't know y I shared this but unfortunately father's day reminds me of this moment n it has actually spoiled it for me n my dad. I hv stopped the celebration at my parents home too. My dad feels hurt. I don't know how to move on from this topic. My husband too has now distanced himself from his dad cuz of this stupid fight.
