Did I make a wrong choice in my career?
I have always been a mediocre developer, simply delivering what is assigned to me without going above and beyond, and I have always preferred a great WLB.
Here's my job switches: 1st: 9L base + 75K variable (1.6 years including internship) 2nd: 16.5L base + 1.65L var + 5L RSU (5 months. The reason is that it required relocation, and I couldn't relocate) 3rd: 18L base + 1L PF (Would be joining in a month. Planning to stay here for 1.5-2 years) YOE: 1.6 (excluding internship)
I am a overthinker and always regret over choices I make no matter what. So I am trying to get the opinions from the experienced folks here if I made a wrong choice or not.
I am based in Bangalore and my current company is in Chennai.
Its good But you could have aimed for 22-25 base in your 3rd year. I moved from 16 base to this range and some friends did too. What I trying to tell is that its possible to do, you can also aim
By 3rd year I meant your new job the 18l base one
@naankhatai I have been in my current one for only five months and my total experience is 1.5 YOE. I have got around 4-5 offers and none of them are even ready to match my current pay. I tried negotiating with Oracle but they said this is the max they can go given my YOE. I am still interviewing for other companies. Thanks for the reply.
