Working late night or long hours doesn’t mean are working great . It says that you are doing nothing extraordinary. Just doing same as expected . In IT industry that is a bad belief that with years of experience you get promoted. Work smart and get ready for next bigger role and ask for promotion.

Do you have IP in your name? do you have research articles written by you in such a short span of exp. Did you get that leverage from your manager to distribute work to others whom consist of seniors too. Do you get appreciated by awards like cheers or client appreciation.I think I have experienced all being a junior which mostly no one does. And most of the thing I am not specifying here.

I have been waiting for last 9 months for promotion, all of my internship batchmates promoted except me , I constantly asking managers senior manager why I am not getting always they came up with lame reasons though they knew how much skilled I am, so I prepared myself in such a way that if this company is not valuing me some other will. So I am constantly searching for opportunity elsewhere given 6 or 7 interviews all went good but my luck was not there. Finally in September I landed my first offer and surprisingly in my notice period this month I was promoted. So everything that I want all I achieved- offer from 2 companies , promotion etc. It's not skill or talent all it is luck.

don’t expect to get promoted just because you have experience

I don't think that's the right way to promote someone but if you are performing very well in every project you get appreciated then there is something naa that you are doing good....then that hard work for working till late nights should be paid off. And beside that company have been changing its policies every year previous when I join it was like if you complete 2 years then you get promoted, then in 2024 it becomes 30 months and now it's 36 months.looks like they don't want to hold Junior resources anymore but just want to utilise them make them work like associates or senior associates.
