Good to know I'm not the only one.

Though it's sad 😔

If your UG friends work in software engineering (especially at Faang type ) then I doubt even an old IIM can give you a 2x salary compared to them.

Working for 8-10 yrs and earning in USD can massively outweight any domestic MBA earnings. Check fire India subreddit and see how much these NRI folks save

Yes, if they stay back in USA they not do much better but most come back to India once they reach 35-42 since they have already saved up > 20 cr easily and can just retire in India

Do you count 8L to 20-25L as 2x?

As long as your peers without an MBA are at an average of 12LPA

MBA was useful for placements. I was earning around 2-3L in a Big 4 and jumped to 14L due to the MBA.

After that one has to obviously chart one’s own path. But that initial opportunity due to placements was valuable and likely the only value add that i otherwise would not have got by staying in the same company or switching laterally.
