Devs make fun of non-devs vibe coding, but it is genuinely changing my life!
I'm in a growth/product role. For years, I was stuck in the "begging loop." Begging frontend guys to change something small. Begging backend guys to help me set up an automation. Now I just prompt it, vibe with the errors, and deploy.
Is it efficient? No. Is the code ugly? Absolutely. But for the 0 to 1 journey, speed > perfection. Vibe coding has actually made me fall in love with tinkering again. I’m not just writing PRDs and Jira tickets anymore; I’m actually building.
To all the "pure" engineers making fun of us: Keep optimizing your clean code in a repo that never sees production. I’ll be out here shipping shit that actually works.

Lowered the bar for entry? Entry where? The project that had a team of 10 has now shrunk to 2. I feel like for an average fresher, it's more difficult now. Maybe if the company is cost cutting and the management goes bonkers, lay off the 2 seniors who are managing it all with AI, and hiring 2 freshers while thinking that they might do the same. Not really sure.

Just don’t rely on Vibe coding. Get the knowledge of how your end to end system really works atleast.
Think at 2am ur production breaks and you don’t even log the flow properly. U are in a call with your leaders and they ask you to resolve it in-front of them , they u say “ i am just a vibe coder “… i am not mocking, i just won’t want anyone to rely on AI blindly. Atleast one should know how to debug the issue , at least u should know technical depth to work with AI. Just prompting AI that “I don’t want that background font , change that” won’t work. i believe u know API calls and tokens are expensive … anyway … keep it up🙂
